US Bitcoin Spot ETFs Leave European Counterparts in the Dust
Europe's Bitcoin ETFs have struggled to compete with their US counterparts since January. The introduction of low-fee US spot ETFs has led to net inflows of $13.6 billion, while European funds have seen net outflows of $500 million. This is despite the price increase in Bitcoin.
According to Financial Times, even Grayscale's Bitcoin Trust, now an ETF, has lost over half its holdings due to higher fees. Canada's Purpose Bitcoin ETF has also seen a significant drop in its holdings.
The success of US spot ETFs underscores the need for competitive fees and efficient market access. European funds are under pressure to reduce costs to remain relevant.
