US Catalysts Ignite Bitcoin Rally Towards $69,000
Bitcoin is on the rise again, breaking through $66,500 and heading towards $69,000. Matt Hougan, Bitwise's Chief Investment Officer, attributes this movement to three key factors in the United States.
The first catalyst is the SEC's new framework for regulating crypto assets, which will clarify when digital assets can avoid being classified as securities. This change has been a long time coming, and many projects have launched tokens without knowing how the SEC would view them afterwards.
The second factor is the US Treasury's plan to double its purchases of long-term bonds, improving their liquidity. This move seems unrelated to Bitcoin at first glance but can actually help it as risk assets tend to react strongly to US financial conditions.
The third and final catalyst is politics. The White House is bringing together representatives from major crypto companies like Coinbase and Ripple to discuss tokenization and the Clarity Act, which aims to define the powers of the SEC and CFTC over digital assets.
