US Commerce Department Brings Macroeconomic Data onto Blockchain Networks
The US Commerce Department has partnered with Chainlink to bring key government macroeconomic data onto public blockchain networks. The initiative involves six distinct data feeds tracking GDP, inflation metrics, and private sales figures across 10 different blockchain platforms.
The feeds operate simultaneously across Ethereum, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Base, Botanix, Linea, Mantle, Optimism, Sonic, and ZKsync, with data refreshes aligning precisely with the Bureau of Economic Analysis's official release calendar. The real GDP metric measures inflation-adjusted national economic production, while the PCE Price Index represents the Federal Reserve's primary inflation benchmark.
Chainlink's oracle infrastructure maintains ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type 1 security certifications, ensuring the integrity of the data distribution framework. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick stated that this collaboration will make America's economic truth 'immutable and globally accessible like never before.'
The market capitalization of Chainlink currently hovers near $8.5 billion, with a critical resistance threshold at $10 billion. Standard Chartered Bank forecasts that LINK could reach $200 by 2030's conclusion, driven by the expansion in tokenized asset markets.
