US Commerce Department Publishes Economic Data on Blockchain via Chainlink

The U.S. Commerce Department has partnered with Chainlink to publish key economic data on a public blockchain. This marks the first time a federal agency has distributed official economic indicators on a blockchain.

The data includes real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and the Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) price index, which are critical metrics used by economists, policymakers, and investors to gauge the health of the U.S. economy.

This collaboration aims to enhance transparency and accessibility by placing economic data on a public ledger. Blockchain's immutability ensures that the data cannot be altered retroactively, reducing discrepancies and building trust in official statistics.
