US Commerce Partners with Chainlink for Blockchain-Based Economic Data Dissemination
The US Commerce Department has partnered with Chainlink to deliver official economic data from the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) on ten different blockchain platforms. This integration enables transparent and immutable dissemination of key economic statistics, including real gross domestic product (GDP), the PCE Price Index, and Real Final Sales to Private Domestic Purchasers.
The three core economic metrics are distributed through two separate data streams: one showing the latest official value and another reflecting annualized quarter-over-quarter percentage changes. The data feeds operate simultaneously across Ethereum, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Base, Botanix, Linea, Mantle, Optimism, Sonic, and ZKsync.
The Commerce Secretary emphasized the importance of making America's economic data globally verifiable and immutable to secure the nation's position as a leader in blockchain technology. Chainlink maintains data integrity through strict compliance with international information security standards.
