A federal judge has granted Bybit expedited discovery in its case against a $1.5 billion crypto theft, allowing the exchange to request account identities and transaction histories from US-based platforms.

The order aims to help locate assets linked to the February 2025 attack on Bybit's Safe Wallet infrastructure, which drained over 400,000 ETH and staked ETH.

According to Bybit, 90.2% of the stolen funds have become untraceable due to passing through mixers, cross-chain bridges, and OTC dealers.

The exchange is seeking the return of stolen assets, approximately $1.5 billion in compensatory damages, punitive damages, and triple damages under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act.
