US CPI Data Matches Expectations, Neutral Impact on Crypto Markets
The July Consumer Price Index (CPI) data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics has been released, and it's largely in line with expectations. The regular CPI came in at 3.3% to 3.4%, while the core CPI rose by 2.5%. This marks a return to more normal levels after June's misleading dip due to lower energy costs.
The brief de-escalation of the Middle East war also contributed to the decrease, but this is now considered a one-off event. As a result, the July print implies a neutral to cautious short-term impact on crypto markets, DeFi, and CEX sentiment and adoption.
