Garlinghouse's comments came after CFTC Chairman Michael Selig thanked President Donald Trump for hosting leading figures from the U.S. innovation sector at the White House, where they discussed building the new frontier of finance in the United States.
The White House event, held on August 19, brought together senior administration officials and executives from across the technology and financial industries, including Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong and Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev.
