US Crypto Bill Hit by New Proposals from Law Enforcement
The future of the Clarity for Digital Asset Markets (CLARITY) Act in the US Senate is uncertain, following new proposals from law enforcement organizations. The National Association of Assistant United States Attorneys and the National District Attorneys Association have requested changes to the bill's provisions regarding developers.
The proposed amendments would 'not create, expand, or alter criminal liability under federal law' for developers. However, White House crypto advisor Patrick Witt stated that these provisions do not align with the Trump administration's stance and are not the result of 'productive negotiations.'
This development comes as the bill faces opposition from many Democratic members, who have expressed concerns over a section related to US President Donald Trump's crypto investments. These investments earned Trump $1.4 billion in 2025.
