US Crypto Holders Spread Across Country, Supporting 232k Jobs
The National Cryptocurrency Association (NCA) has released an interactive map showing the estimated distribution of crypto holders across the United States. The map, which covers all 50 states and Washington D.C., estimates that approximately 67 million American adults own cryptocurrency.
According to the map, California leads with an estimated 9.5 million crypto holders, followed by Texas with 5.94 million, Florida with 4.71 million, New York with 4.66 million, and Illinois with 2.64 million.
The NCA's research estimates that the crypto industry supports nearly 232,000 jobs in the US, with a total economic impact of $55.4 billion. The employment figure comprises about 34,000 direct positions at crypto companies, 75,000 indirect jobs at suppliers, and 123,000 induced jobs supported by worker spending.
Regionally, the distribution of holders is spread across the country, with the South accounting for 38% of owners, followed by the West with 27%. The Midwest and Northeast each account for 18%, indicating a broad geographic reach.
