US Crypto Ownership Reaches 67 Million: Industry Goes Mainstream

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse says that the crypto industry has gone mainstream after a report estimated that 67 million US adults own cryptocurrency.

The figure, which represents roughly 25% of US adults, comes from the National Cryptocurrency Association and The Harris Poll's 2026 State of Crypto Holders Report. The survey was based on a sample of 10,000 respondents.

Garlinghouse argues that this large ownership figure shows that digital assets have moved beyond early adopters and are now part of everyday financial life.

The report highlights the importance of careful framing when presenting survey estimates, as they may not be exact counts. The estimate should be described as such to avoid misrepresentation.
