US Crypto Regulation Shifts as CFTC Plans Unilateral Framework
Crypto regulation updates are gaining momentum in the US as lawmakers face gridlock on the long-awaited Clarity Act. CFTC Chair Michael Selig has signaled that his agency will draft its own crypto framework if Congress fails to pass the bill by September.
The SEC has already proposed its first formal crypto rules, Regulation Crypto Assets, which include exemptions for offerings up to $5 million and $75 million. These rules aim to give crypto entrepreneurs clear pathways to raise capital under federal securities laws.
Binance's recent launch of Agent OS, a platform that lets AI agents trade spot and futures positions, is another example of the evolving infrastructure in the industry.
