US Government Corruption Perceptions Soar Amid Trump Financial Controversies

Share

Nearly nine in ten Americans believe government corruption is widespread, according to recent Gallup polling.

This perception has increased by 10 points since last year and now stands at a significant 89%, surpassing the 72-79% range between 2010 and 2025.

The largest jump comes from Democrats, who have seen their numbers rise to 91%, up from 76% in Trump's first term. In contrast, Republicans remain relatively consistent, with around eight in ten still believing corruption is widespread.

One of the key factors driving this perception is President Trump's financial dealings. His cryptocurrency business has been criticized for its ties to foreign investors, including an investment firm tied to the United Arab Emirates, which purchased nearly half of his main crypto firm.
