US Government Transfers Small Amount of Seized Bitcoin from Alameda Research Accounts
The U.S. government has transferred a small amount of Bitcoin from Alameda Research accounts on Binance.US, which were seized around three years ago. The transaction involved approximately 0.0048 BTC, worth about $377 at the time.
According to Arkham Intelligence, this is not the first movement of assets tied to Alameda and FTX. In June, the government transferred nearly $984,000 in seized assets to Coinbase Prime, with most of it being allocated for the FTX estate as part of the creditor repayment process.
The Strategic Bitcoin Reserve, established by President Donald Trump's executive order in March 2025, has a no-sale policy for finally forfeited Bitcoin. However, seized cryptocurrency can still be subject to court proceedings, victim restitution, or other claims, leaving its status unclear.
