US House Committee Set to Vote on Strategic Bitcoin Reserve Bill
A bill proposing the creation of a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve within the US federal government is set to be voted on by the House Financial Services Committee on Wednesday.
The 'American Reserve Modernization Act of 2026' (H.R. 8957) was introduced to the House of Representatives on May 21, 2026, and referred to the Financial Services Committee.
Sponsored by Alaska Representative Nick Begich and several Republican and Democratic members from various states, the bill aims to establish a separate 'Strategic Bitcoin Reserve' within the U.S. Treasury Department to store Bitcoins held by the federal government.
