US Seizes $560K in Crypto Allegedly Bound for Hamas
US authorities have taken action against Hamas' online fundraising and recruitment efforts. The Department of Justice (DOJ) seized over $560,000 in cryptocurrency as part of a crackdown on terrorist financing. According to U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro, the funds were allegedly bound for Hamas.
The operation targeted infrastructure associated with the Al Qassam Brigades, Hamas' military wing. The DOJ has designated Hamas as a foreign terrorist organization.
Pirro stated that the action sends a clear message to Hamas: 'Your networks are not secure, your crypto is vulnerable, and we will not stop until your ability to wage war is defeated.'
