US Seizes $560K in Crypto Linked to Hamas Fundraising Efforts
The US Department of Justice has seized over $560,000 in cryptocurrency linked to Hamas, a militant group based in the Middle East. The funds were part of a larger effort by authorities to disrupt the group's fundraising operations.
According to court documents, investigators traced cryptocurrency through wallet addresses that had been changed to make donation flows harder to follow. Three seizure warrants were issued covering transactions made in 2025.
The FBI identified thousands of individuals who contacted Hamas online about making cryptocurrency donations, which could help investigators uncover additional fundraising activity.
