US Stock Futures Mixed Amid Weak Employment Data
The US stock futures market was mixed in pre-market trading on Thursday, September 3. The three major indices showed varying movements, with Nasdaq 100 futures falling by 0.08%, S&P 500 futures rising by 0.06%, and Dow 30 futures increasing by 0.22%.
U.S. Treasury yields declined after the August ADP employment data came in below expectations, shifting market focus to Friday's nonfarm payrolls report. The 10-year Treasury yield remained largely steady near 4.77%. Global bond yields pulled back from highs, with US Treasuries extending their gains.
Gold (XAUUSD) rebounded over 1% to reclaim $4,400/oz, while silver (XAGUSD) rose over 1% and approached $66/oz. The weak employment data supported precious metals prices.
