US Strikes Iranian Rocket Launchers in Strait of Hormuz
The United States military has launched airstrikes against Iran in its first publicly confirmed strike on Iranian territory in over a month.
The attack targeted two Iranian rocket launchers on Larak Island in the Strait of Hormuz, according to the US Central Command (CENTCOM).
CENTCOM spokesperson Capt. Tim Hawkins stated that the IRGC forces were 'observed preparing to launch rockets with sea mines' into the strait.
The strikes are seen as a response to Iran's earlier attempts to mine the Strait of Hormuz, which has been a major point of contention in the ongoing conflict between the US and Iran.
