USD1 Stablecoin Surpasses $4B Circulation Despite Trump Family Scrutiny
The USD1 stablecoin has surpassed $4 billion in circulation after just over seven months on the market. Launched by World Liberty Financial in March, it was initially fueled by institutional demand rather than connections to the Trump family.
A key factor in its growth was a $2 billion investment from Abu Dhabi-backed MGX into Binance, which was settled using USD1, giving the token immediate institutional use.
World Liberty received preliminary approval from the OCC for a national trust bank to manage USD1 operations under federal supervision, though final approval is pending. The company emphasizes the stablecoin's focus on trust and regulatory compliance as drivers of its growth.
