$USDC and Circle Mint Cut Cross-Border Settlement Costs for LuLu Financial Holdings
LuLu Financial Holdings (LFH) has achieved significant cost savings and efficiency improvements in cross-border settlements by adopting Circle's $USDC stablecoin and Circle Mint. According to LFH, settlement costs have been reduced by 25-30% compared to traditional correspondent-banking channels.
The partnership between LuLuFin and Circle also led to a 40% increase in settlement volume, with beneficiaries receiving credit within one minute of settlement completion.
LuLu Financial Holdings' goal was not to replace the US dollar but to make dollar-denominated liquidity move more flexibly. The company uses Circle Mint to convert US dollars into $USDC on a one-to-one basis, which can then be transferred to partner wallets for use in cross-border settlements.
LuLuFin is now exploring broader use of Circle's wallet infrastructure and evaluating the Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP), which enables native $USDC transfers between supported blockchains.
