USDC and USDT Dominate Crypto Card Spending
The stablecoin landscape has undergone significant changes in the past two years, as dollar-backed stablecoins USDC and USDT have now become the leading payment methods for crypto cards. According to data from mid-2026, these two stablecoins account for approximately 84% of total card spending. This represents a marked shift from early 2024, when euro-backed stablecoins like EURe controlled most crypto transactions.
The rapid growth in crypto card spending is evident, with monthly volumes rising from under $1 million in late 2023 to $759 million in July 2026. Despite this significant increase, crypto card payments still comprise a small fraction of the global payments market.
