USDC Seals Chelsea Sponsorship Deal Amid Growing International Visibility
Circle's USDC stablecoin has landed a high-profile sponsorship deal with Chelsea Football Club. The club will feature USDC branding on its men's, women's, and academy team shirts for the entire 2026/27 season.
The partnership marks a significant milestone in USDC's international visibility, with circulation reaching $73.7 billion as of August 27. This represents a $400 million increase since the end of the second quarter.
USDC reserves currently stand at $74.0 billion, providing a coverage ratio of approximately 100.4%. Circle reported reserve income of $668 million for the second quarter, up 5% from the same period last year.
The Chelsea sponsorship is seen as a crucial step in turning visibility into higher balances and greater distribution for USDC. However, analysts caution that wider adoption may not necessarily translate to increased revenue, and Circle's financial results remain reliant on reserve yields.
