USDC Stablecoin Demand Drives Circle's Revenue Growth Amid Market Uncertainty
Circle's quarterly revenue saw a significant increase as demand for its USDC stablecoin surged in the second quarter of this year. The company reported $701.3 million in revenue and reserve income, representing a 7% rise from the same period last year.
The growth is attributed to the expanding use of USDC among businesses and institutions beyond just crypto trading. This increased adoption comes as investors sought stability during periods of heightened market volatility, such as the renewed Middle East tensions that affected global markets in the quarter.
As a result, stablecoins like USDC experienced heightened demand as investors shifted funds from riskier assets into more secure options. With Tether's USDT ranking as the world's largest dollar-backed stablecoin, USDC held its position as the second-largest despite the increase in demand.
