$USDY Expands to BNB Chain, Bringing Yield-Bearing Stability to DeFi
Ondo Finance has expanded its yield-bearing stablecoin, $USDY, to BNB Chain. The move brings a tokenized version of U.S. Treasury bills and short-dated government bonds to one of the largest blockchain ecosystems by total value locked.
$USDY is designed to offer holders a stable value of $1 while accruing yield from a diversified portfolio of U.S. Treasuries and bank deposits. Unlike algorithmic stablecoins, it's backed by real-world, income-generating assets, providing a transparent and lower-risk alternative for investors seeking yield.
The integration of $USDY into BNB Chain could have several implications for DeFi users, offering a stable, yield-bearing asset that can be used in lending protocols, liquidity pools, and as collateral. This could bring additional liquidity to the network and attract more institutional interest.
