ARK Invest's Director of Research Lorenzo Valente has expressed his views on Ethereum Improvement Proposal (EIP) 8361, which aims to modify staking issuance on the Ethereum network. In a recent post on X, Valente argued that EIP-8361 does not address Ethereum's revenue challenges and instead focuses solely on adjusting staking rewards.

Valente emphasized that the proposal would only reduce the staking subsidy, leaving priority fees and maximal extractable value untouched. He stressed that Ethereum should prioritize growing its revenue streams rather than tinkering with staking issuance.

The debate surrounding EIP-8361 has been ongoing, with proponents arguing that it will prevent excessive staking growth and mitigate potential security risks. Critics, however, claim that the proposal will introduce uncertainty and make staking yields unpredictable, potentially deterring institutional participants.
