VanEck Onchain Economy ETF Rides Out Market Pullbacks with Deliberate Investing Strategy
The VanEck Onchain Economy ETF (NODE) took a deliberate approach to investing after losses, using dips as buying opportunities rather than reasons to panic. Launched on May 13, 2025, NODE is an actively managed ETF that focuses on the 'onchain economy', covering blockchain infrastructure, digital assets, crypto mining, and AI compute services.
The fund currently holds between 59 and 64 positions, with its largest single holding being VanEck's own Bitcoin ETF (HODL), which accounts for roughly 10.5% of the portfolio. NODE has been building positions in crypto mining and AI infrastructure companies, including TeraWulf (WULF), Cipher Mining (CIFR), HUT 8 (HUT), and Applied Digital (APLD).
NODE operates without leverage, which means there's no scenario where a broker forces the fund to liquidate positions at the worst possible time. This approach allowed the fund to take advantage of market pullbacks in April and May 2026, posting a year-to-date return of approximately 12.39% as of late July 2026.
