VanEck Sees $1 Million Bitcoin Target as Base Case
VanEck's Head of Digital Assets Research Matthew Sigel has made a bold prediction that Bitcoin could hit $1 million per coin within five years, citing demographic shifts and rising allocations from younger investors as key drivers. This projection puts VanEck alongside other prominent firms and individuals who have floated seven-figure Bitcoin targets using different analytical frameworks.
Sigel's base-case scenario is not without its challenges, however. He acknowledged that the road to $1 million will be rough, with Bitcoin's correlation with the Nasdaq hitting a five-year high, suggesting macro forces are steering the current rally rather than crypto-specific speculation.
The current price of around $81,042 would need to climb over 12-fold to validate Sigel's call. Despite this hurdle, spot Bitcoin ETFs have seen significant inflows in recent months, with April 2026 logging $2.44 billion in net inflows, the strongest month since October 2025.
