Vanguard, one of the world's largest asset managers, has increased its stake in Strive Asset Management, a company that invests in bitcoin treasury strategy. According to recent filings, Vanguard's flagship index fund, VTSAX, purchased an additional 269,200 shares of Strive, bringing its total holding to 1.98 million shares valued at approximately $23.7 million.

This move marks a significant shift for Vanguard, which had previously banned clients from buying spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) on its brokerage platform. However, under the leadership of new CEO Salim Ramji, who oversaw the launch of BlackRock's spot bitcoin ETF, IBIT, the company lifted its ban on cryptocurrency ETFs in late 2025.

Strive's holding is now a significant portion of Vanguard's portfolio, with the stake increasing by $20.4 million to approximately $23.7 million. This trend suggests that institutional investors are increasingly looking at bitcoin-linked listed companies as a way to gain exposure to digital assets.
