Velocity Secures $48M in Series A Funding Led by Visa and Circle
London-based Velocity has secured $48 million in Series A funding after raising an additional $10 million. The financing, which values the company at $200 million post-money, was led by Visa Ventures and Circle Ventures, with participation from Ripple, Haun Ventures, Translink Capital, and Mirana Ventures.
The new investment brings Velocity's total capital raised to nearly $60 million since May 2025. According to CEO Eric Queathem, the company plans to use the funds to develop infrastructure for issuers, acquirers, payment companies, banks, and merchants. Its system connects stablecoins with banking rails, custody, liquidity, compliance, and settlement tools.
Queathem stated that Velocity's focus is on placing stablecoin settlement underneath existing payment and treasury systems instead of requiring companies to operate a separate crypto stack. This approach aligns with Visa's own strategy, which has been building more stablecoin capabilities into its payment infrastructure.
