Velocity Snags $38M for Stablecoin Treasury Platform Amid Regulatory Shifts
Velocity, a stablecoin treasury and settlement platform founded in 2025, has secured $38 million in Series A funding. The round was led by Dragonfly and FirstMark, with participation from notable investors including Capital One Ventures, Coinbase Ventures, QED Investors, Activant Capital, Ripple, and Wintermute Ventures.
The total capital raised by Velocity now stands at nearly $50 million since its inception last May. The company's platform combines stablecoin infrastructure with local banking rails, compliance tooling, custody, liquidity management, and settlement orchestration.
According to Eric Queathem, founder and CEO of Velocity, the focus has always been on treasury professionals rather than the crypto-native segment. He stated that 'stablecoins are moving beyond payments and becoming core infrastructure for how businesses manage and move money globally.'
The investor list is notable, with Capital One Ventures signaling mainstream financial institutions' increasing interest in stablecoins. This comes amidst regulatory developments in the US, including a Senate bill proposing a federal licensing framework for stablecoin issuers.
