Venezuela Arrests Trio Over Binance Arbitrage Scheme
Venezuela's Bolivarian National Police arrested three men in Maracaibo last week for allegedly running an arbitrage scheme on Binance's peer-to-peer platform.
The suspects, aged 18, 19, and 22, used the platform to buy dollars at the official BCV auction rate, convert them to USDT, and then resell them at a higher parallel rate.
The case highlights regulatory risks for P2P crypto trading in Venezuela and could deter adoption of local DeFi/DEX activity.
