Venmo Brings PayPal Stablecoin PYUSD to Its 67M Users
PayPal's stablecoin PYUSD has finally reached Venmo on Arbitrum, making it accessible to its 67 million monthly active users. This move brings consumer access to the token inside Venmo's apps, nearly a year after PayPal deployed it on Arbitrum in July 2025.
Eligible Venmo customers can now buy, sell, send, and use PYUSD on Arbitrum without any fees for buying, selling, or holding. Sending PYUSD to another Venmo user or a PayPal account is also fee-free, but sending it to an external wallet address incurs network fees.
Only balances parked inside Venmo or PayPal earn rewards, which are calculated based on the average daily balance and paid out monthly in PYUSD. The company has promoted a 4% rate since 2026, up from 3.7% when the program launched in April 2025. Participation is limited to opted-in U.S. customers outside New York.
