Verus Bridge Hit by Second Hack in Two Months

The Ethereum-based Verus bridge has been hacked again for approximately $7.54 million in assets. The attack occurred on July 23, just two months after a previous hack of the same protocol.

According to Blockaid, the hacker exploited a vulnerability in the import path and initiated unsecured payouts on the Ethereum side. This allowed them to withdraw various digital assets, including ETH, tBTC, USDC, USDT, EURC, MKR, and scrvUSD.

The incident is linked to the same contract, entry point, and vulnerability class as a previous $11.5 million protocol hack on May 18.
