Vice President Discusses National Crypto Reserve with Bitcoin and XRP Mentioned
The U.S. Vice President JD Vance discussed the role of cryptocurrency in addressing the country's debt, mentioning XRP as one of the digital assets that could potentially be included in a national crypto reserve.
During an exchange with Newsmax host Carl Higbie, Vance emphasized the need for clearer regulations to support the growth of the U.S. economy and the administration's efforts to improve the relationship between economic growth and debt.
Vance pointed out that the country's debt remains high but said the administration is making progress in managing it. He also highlighted the importance of a sovereign wealth fund and the need for Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent's plan to help the U.S. economy grow faster than its debt.
The discussion then shifted to crypto regulation, with Higbie mentioning the CLARITY Act as a key piece of legislation that could create opportunities for investors once it becomes law. Vance acknowledged the bill's significance and expressed his hope that it would pass before the August recess.
