Vice President Vance Discusses Digital Assets' Role in Addressing US National Debt
Vice President JD Vance discussed the potential role of digital assets in addressing the U.S. national debt during an interview with Newsmax host Carl Higbie.
Higbie referenced recent comments by President Donald Trump suggesting that digital assets could strengthen the country's financial position amid ongoing concerns over the federal debt burden.
Vance did not endorse using XRP or any other cryptocurrency to directly pay down or service the national debt, instead outlining a broader economic strategy centered on growing the economy faster than the debt itself accumulates.
The administration is working on a sovereign wealth fund plan designed to support this objective, with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent developing the proposal.
Vance also discussed the CLARITY Act, a proposed bill that could establish a clearer legal framework for digital asset companies operating in the United States.
