The Vietnamese government has unveiled its National Digital Transformation Strategy for 2026-2030, aiming to become one of the world's top countries in data governance by 2045.

Under this plan, Vietnam will overhaul its data ecosystem, developing integrated national databases and sector-specific networks that adhere to uniform technical standards. The government also plans to improve cybersecurity with incident warning systems and data protection measures.

To support the digital nation vision, at least 50,000 government officials and public sector employees will receive training in data governance, analysis, and utilization under the National Data Governance Training Framework. Around 300,000 workers in the private sector will also be provided with training in data skills, analytics, and AI applications.

The strategy also covers education, with plans for over 50 universities to offer degree programs in data science, AI, high-performance computing, and data security by 2030.
