Vietnam Cracks Down on Unlicensed Crypto Platforms
Vietnam's new crypto enforcement regime took effect on September 1, introducing fines for domestic investors caught using unlicensed trading platforms. Under Decree No. 284/2026/ND-CP, fines range from 30-50 million VND ($1,140-$1,900) per infraction.
The new regulations are part of a five-year pilot program designed to run through 2030 and were first introduced in September 2025 with Government Resolution No. 05/2025/NQ-CP.
A total of five companies have passed the initial licensing assessment: VIX Crypto Assets Exchange JSC, Loc Phat Vietnam Crypto Assets Exchange, Vietnam Prosperity Crypto Assets Exchange, Techcom Crypto Assets Exchange, and Vietnam Digital Assets JSC.
