Vietnam Cracks Down on Unlicensed Crypto Services

The Vietnamese government has introduced new regulations and penalties for crypto-related activities in the country. From September 1, 2026, providing services related to crypto assets without a license will result in fines of up to 200 million VND.

Decree No. 284/2026/ND-CP stipulates administrative penalties for violations related to crypto assets and the crypto asset market. The decree also sets conditions for establishing commodity exchanges, including having an information technology system that meets safe management and operation requirements.
