Visa and Dunamu Partner on Stablecoin Payments and AI Financial Services
Dunamu, the operator of South Korea's largest cryptocurrency exchange Upbit, has partnered with payment giant Visa to explore digital finance. The two companies signed a strategic agreement on August 28 to develop stablecoin payments, remittances, and AI financial services.
The partnership will combine Dunamu's digital-asset technology with Visa's global payments network. They plan to develop the work in stages around stability, transparency, interoperability, and regulatory compliance.
The agreement does not provide for an immediate payment product or a specific launch date. Instead, it sets a framework for research and business development. Dunamu CEO Oh Kyung-seok and Visa Global President Oliver Jenkyn presented a roadmap at Visa's Global Market Support Centre in San Francisco.
