Visa has partnered with Nium to test seven-day settlement using regulated stablecoins under Singapore's BLOOM initiative.

The pilot, which focuses on interoperability between traditional payment infrastructure and stablecoin settlement, aims to reduce delays in cross-border payments by allowing financial institutions to settle transactions outside normal banking hours.

Regulated U.S. dollar and euro-backed stablecoins will be supported in the test, with Nium serving as Visa's first partner under the BLOOM framework.
