Visa Bolsters Infrastructure for Stablecoin-Linked Cards
Visa has announced that it will make its settlement data and on-chain lending infrastructure available to blockchain lenders, allowing them to better understand the financial performance of fintechs and neobanks issuing stablecoin-linked cards.
This move aims to address a major challenge facing stablecoin issuers: settling transactions in real-time. Stablecoins operate 24/7, leaving card issuers to manage daily settlements, which many startups aren't equipped to handle.
The number of stablecoin-linked card programs facilitated by Visa has increased significantly, with over 160 programs currently active, nearly 200% more than last year. This growth is expected to continue as new issuers join the network each week.
