Visa Brings Stablecoins to Mainstream Payments via Zero Hash Partnership
Visa has taken another step towards integrating digital assets into mainstream financial infrastructure by adding stablecoin settlement and payout features to its Visa Direct real-time payments network. The move, announced through a partnership with on-chain infrastructure provider Zero Hash, allows businesses using Visa Direct to prefund accounts with stablecoins and execute payouts through Zero Hash’s platform.
The integration of stablecoin capabilities into Visa Direct is designed to offer businesses greater flexibility in managing cross-border transactions and liquidity, particularly for those operating in the digital asset economy. By partnering with Zero Hash, a Chicago-based digital asset infrastructure firm, Visa aims to bridge traditional fiat payment rails with blockchain-based settlement.
The partnership enables businesses to use stablecoins, such as USDC or USDT, to prefund their Visa Direct balances, allowing for faster and more efficient payouts to recipients worldwide. This eliminates the need to convert digital assets to fiat before making payments, reducing friction, costs, and speeding up transaction times.
