Visa Seeks Stablecoin Settlement Partners Amid Intensifying Competition with Mastercard

Share

Visa is seeking stablecoin settlement partners as part of its broader push into digital assets. The company has sent out a request for proposals to select firms with crypto exchange licenses in key markets, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Singapore.

The move comes shortly after rival Mastercard completed its acquisition of BVNK, a stablecoin payments infrastructure provider. This strategic expansion aligns with Visa's goal of bridging traditional finance and the growing stablecoin ecosystem.

Visa's new stablecoin platform, launched last month, aims to provide a regulated and scalable infrastructure for digital currency transactions. By partnering with licensed exchanges, Visa can offer comprehensive stablecoin services to its clients.
