Visa Stablecoin Settlement Volume Surpasses $20 Billion
Visa's stablecoin settlement volume has reached an impressive milestone of $20 billion in annualized run rate, marking a significant increase of over 15 times year-over-year. This growth is evident in the company's fiscal second quarter 2026 report, which highlights the expansion of its stablecoin infrastructure.
The payment volume on stablecoin-linked card programs has seen a staggering nearly 200% growth year-over-year, with more than 160 such programs live globally. However, it is essential to note that this metric is distinct from stablecoin settlement volume, tracking spending on these programs rather than obligations being settled through Visa's stablecoin framework.
Visa's U.S. stablecoin settlement framework allows select issuer and acquirer partners to settle VisaNet obligations using Circle's USDC over supported blockchains, supporting seven-day settlement windows, including weekends and holidays. The company has also described an onchain financing use case around stablecoin-linked card programs.
