Visa Stays Neutral on Stablecoins Amid Open USD Launch
Visa CEO Ryan McInerney has stated that his company will maintain a neutral stance on stablecoins, supporting multiple tokens and networks without favoring one over others.
This decision comes as Open USD prepares for its launch later in 2026 with the backing of over 140 companies, including Mastercard, Stripe, Coinbase, BlackRock, and Google.
Visa introduced its own Stablecoin Platform on July 16, allowing banks and fintechs to mint, burn, store, and transfer Open USD.
The platform has already seen $7 billion in annualized stablecoin settlement activity as of March 2026, with Visa remaining committed to supporting multiple stablecoins through its services.
