Visa Taps Zerohash for Stablecoin Payouts on Global Payment Network
Visa has partnered with Zerohash to integrate stablecoin prefunding and payouts into its Visa Direct platform, which connects over 18 billion endpoints across more than 195 countries.
The integration will allow eligible clients on the Visa Direct platform to prefund merchant accounts and send payouts using stablecoins, making it easier for businesses to manage liquidity around the clock without traditional banking windows. Zerohash provides the technology powering this integration, which enables regulatory and technical backend support for financial institutions building onchain payment products.
Zerohash is no stranger to institutional crypto, having been founded in 2017 and raised $104 million in a Series D-2 round led by Interactive Brokers at a $1 billion valuation. It has also become the first firm licensed under Europe's Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation to hold Electronic Money Institution status.
Visa has been building towards this integration for over a year, having run a pilot with BVNK on stablecoin prefunding and payouts on Visa Direct in January 2025. It also launched the Visa Stablecoin Platform in July, a toolkit for banks and fintechs to issue, hold, and transfer stablecoins within existing treasury infrastructure.
