Visser Sees Bitcoin Ready to Breakout Amid Growing Constraints and AI Catalysts
Market strategist Jordi Visser believes Bitcoin (BTC) is on the verge of a major breakout, citing three key catalysts that could drive the price higher. In an August 8 podcast with Anthony Pompliano, Visser argued that the past 10 trading days could be seen as a 'major inflection point' for Bitcoin and the broader financial markets.
The first catalyst is the growing constraints facing U.S. policymakers, particularly in regards to long-term Treasury yields, which have climbed sharply despite weakening labor market conditions. Visser noted that aggregate payroll trends are at their weakest six-month level since 2012 outside of the COVID-19 period.
Visser also pointed out that while Gold, silver and platinum have begun breaking higher, Bitcoin has yet to follow suit. However, he believes this could soon change, stating 'I'm a believer right now that all it's going to take to get the Bitcoin crowd fired up is a technical breaking point.'
The strategist also sees AI-driven stablecoin and blockchain activity as a major catalyst for crypto, potentially attracting hedge funds as measurable revenues and transactions grow. Once investors can attach real-world value to these emerging trends, Visser expects traditional financial institutions to take the asset class more seriously.
