Visser Sees Capital Flowing from AI to Bitcoin Amid Stalled Gains and Hardware Limitations
Jordi Visser, a seasoned macro investor with over 30 years of experience, believes that capital flowing into artificial intelligence will shift to Bitcoin. Visser, founder of AI Macro Nexus / AI22 Research, made this assertion on Anthony Pompliano's show. He argued that the era of rapid 7-8 fold gains in the AI sector has stalled due to high interest rates and physical hardware limitations such as chip and memory shortages.
According to Visser, aggressive valuations seen in AI infrastructure investments and large language models have reached saturation point. The 'easy money' trading model, where massive returns of 7-8 times the initial investment were achieved through AI, has come to an end, he stated. Instead, investors are now seeking new avenues with a better risk-return balance.
Visser noted that giants like Google and Anthropic are burning significant capital trying to build infrastructure, but profitability is delayed due to physical limitations. This will drive investors towards alternative macro assets, including Bitcoin, which has shown remarkable resilience to recent macroeconomic turmoil despite trading approximately 50% below its all-time highs.
Visser expects an inevitable integration between artificial intelligence and the cryptocurrency market to occur in the second half of the year. He believes that autonomously operating AI agents will utilize Bitcoin networks for micro-payments, data transfers, and property verification, creating sustainable organic demand for Bitcoin.
