Visser Sees Crypto Opportunity in Bessent's Yield-Suppression Playbook
Wall Street veteran investor Jordi Visser disputed Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh's hawkish-sounding Jackson Hole remarks, calling them 'showmanship' to maintain Fed credibility.
According to Visser, it was not Warsh's comments that mattered for crypto, but rather Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent's yield-suppression playbook, which included yen intervention, Treasury buybacks, and Treasury General Account (TGA) management to keep long-end yields lower.
Visser tied Bessent's strategy directly to crypto, stating that stablecoins needed to scale up to $3 trillion for the Treasury to be a major buyer of U.S. debt.
He argued that Warsh wouldn't raise rates in September because it would go against their plan and affect market liquidity through the TGA.
Visser also predicted that Bitcoin's price could reach $600,000-$1 million based on a hypothetical total crypto market cap of $100 trillion.
